Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande sing Defying Gravity

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande treated the star-studded audience to an emotional rendition of ‘Defying Gravity’ from ‘Wicked’.

The 38-year-old actress - who played Elphaba in the musical movie - and the Glinda actress, 31, duetted on the song after opening the 97th Academy Awards with The Wizard of Oz’s ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and ‘The Wiz’s ‘Home’.

Both Erivo and Grande were nominated for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, though neither left the ceremony with a statue.
