Screenwriter Steven E. de Souza claims the blockbuster is a Christmas film.

When asked the key question by CNN's Jake Tapper, Steven - who co-wrote the script with Jeb Stuart - wrote on the social media platform X: "Yes, because the studio rejected the Purim draft #DieHardIsAChristmasMovie."
