Tom Hanks is transfixed with type writers

The ‘Cast Away’ actor has been collecting type writers since the 1970s. His growing obsession resulted in him launching his own app called The Hanx Writer which launched in August 2014 that simulates the type writing experience. In 2012 Hanks was sent a vintage type writer by Nerdist podcast host Chris Hardwick as a bribe to appear on his show.
