The Mighty Boosh
Noel is best known as a member of The Mighty Boosh comedy troupe that he started with Julian Barratt in the 2000s.
It started life as a 2001 radio series called The Boosh for BBC Radio London.
'The Mighty Boosh' then ran for three series on BBC Three from 2004 to 2007, and saw the comedian nominated for a BAFTA.
Noel played several characters, including Vince Noir, The Moon, The Hitcher and Old Gregg.
The series is still available on BBC iPlayer, but comes with a warning before each episode as it was mired with controversy amid accusations of racial discrimination, due to Noel playing the ghost of Howlin' Jimmy Jefferson with "blackface".
