Robert Downey Jr. wins
At last, Robert Downey Jr. can add an Oscar to his vast list of accomplishments.
The 58-year-old actor won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in ‘Oppenheimer’, having previously been nominated for his work in 'Chaplin' and 'Tropic Thunder’.
Taking to the stage, the ‘Iron Man’ star said: “I'd like to thank my terrible childhood and the Academy. In that order. I'd like to thank my veterinarian, I mean wife, Susan Downey over there. She found me a snarling rescue pet and loved me back to life, that's why I'm here, thank you.”
