1990 - Jessica Tandy

At the 62nd Academy Awards Jessica Tandy took home the golden statuette for her acclaimed portrayal of widower Daisy Werthan in the 1989 American comedy-drama film 'Driving Miss Daisy', directed by Bruce Beresford.

Tandy beat Michelle Pfeiffer ('The Fabulous Baker Boys'), Jessica Lange ('Music Box'), Isabelle Adjani ('Camille Claudel') and Shirley Valentine ('Shirley Valentine') to be named Best Actress that year.
