Chris Evans finally laid Captain America’s shield to rest after ‘Avengers: Endgame’, and has since revealed he had a lot of conflicting thoughts about playing the hero before agreeing to the part.

Reflecting on the character and joining the MCU, he said: “The pros were that I’d be able to take care of my family forever. The cons were that I would become deeply, deeply unhappy with fame and loss of control.”

However, since playing Captain America, Chris emphasised he enjoyed every minute of being a superhero.

He said: “I loved playing that role. I feel connected to it in a way that when you revisit a character so many times you can’t help but try to absorb some of their traits and measure yourself against them.”
