Britt Ekland has dismissed suggestions that the new 'James Bond' should be a woman.

The 81-year-old actress played Bond girl Mary Goodnight in the 1974 film 'The Man with the Golden Gun' - in which she starred opposite the late Sir Roger Moore as Bond (pictured) - and she is adamant that Bond must remain a man

In an interview on 'Loose Women', she said: "Bond is a bachelor and will always be a bachelor. Do you know what the female word for bachelor is? Old maid."
