Billie Eilish thanks Barbie for saving her from 'depression'
Billie Eilish credited her 'Barbie' song for having "saved her" from depression as she accepted a Golden Globe Award on Sunday (07.01.24).
Billie and her brother and co-writer Finneas O'Connell accepted the Best Original Song – Motion Picture prize for 'What Was I Made For?' from Greta Gerwig's blockbuster, and the 22-year-old star reflected on how she was feeling low when she first saw the movie and was asked to be part of the project.
She said: "It was exactly a year ago almost that we were shown the movie I was very, very miserable and depressed at the time. And writing that song kind of saved me a little bit. A year later, and here we are, and it’s really surreal. I feel incredibly, incredibly lucky and grateful."
