Tippi Hedren

The ‘Birds’ star kept a lion as a pet in the '80s after the success of the 1981 film ‘Roar’.

According to her granddaughter Dakota Johnson - who is the offspring of Tippi's daughter Melanie Griffiths and Don Johnson and has a movie career to rival the rest of her family - Tippi is a true lion tamer.

In 2020, Dakota, 33, said of her 93-year-old grandmother: “She has 13 or 14. There used to be like 60 cats, and now there’s just a couple.

"By the time I was born they were all in huge compounds and it was a lot safer. It wasn’t as totally psycho as it was when they first started.”
