The actor is the father of Angelina Jolie but has had a turbulent relationship with his daughter after he and the star's mother Marcheline Bertrand split when she was just two years old.

The pair have now been able to mend their relationship and Jolie explained how family had been the key to easing the tension.

She told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017: "Jon and I have gotten to know each other - through grandchildren now. We're finding a new relationship."
