His role as brooding Edward Cullen in the vampire flick may have turned him into a dreamboat for teenage girls around the world, but for Pattinson it was a nightmare.

The actor said: "He's the most ridiculous person...the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy...Plus, he's a 108 year-old virgin so he's obviously got some issues there.

"I had people sitting outside my house every single day, and it drove me crazy."
