Elizabeth Chambers vows she'll never marry again after divorcing Armie Hammer
Armie Hammer's ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers has vowed she will never marry again after the former couple's divorce - declaring: "I spent years getting unmarried. Why would I [get married] again?"
Armie Hammer's ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers will never marry again after their divorce.
The former couple - who are parents to daughter Harper, 12, and son Ford, nine - split in 2020 shortly before his Hollywood career imploded after he was hit by a string of allegations in 2021, including emotional abuse, manipulation, and rape, and the infamous accusation he harboured fantasies of cannibalism. The actor denied all the allegations and there was insufficient evidence for him to be charged.
Now Elizabeth, 44, has insisted she has no plans to ever walk down the aisle again after her 10-year marriage came to an end. Speaking to Us Weekly, she explained: "Absolutely not. I spent years getting unmarried. Why would I [get married] again?"
She added of her marriage: "We went in full on. And I have friends that are like: 'Oh, I’m not even sad because I never really liked him [their former partner] in the first place.'
"That was not me ... I thought I found my person for life, and I really believed in monogamy, and I really believed in the most important thing is family, and it is."
She went on to add: "I remember praying every day, being like: 'How is this my life? I have the most amazing kids. I have the most amazing family. I have the most [amazing] everything'.
"It was so precious that when you put things on such a pedestal, it’s so fragile, right? Like, in a weird way, at any point I can’t make a decision as to how this goes all on my own, and so that’s the beauty of marriage in a lot of ways because it is so precious, and it has to be protected.
"I just don’t know that I would ever trust anyone to protect my heart like that again. And that’s just like me in a therapy session right now."
Elizabeth concluded by insisting she would not change a thing about her marriage but she does wish she had protected her kids more as she fears about the information they might see online.
She told the publication: "I would not change a single thing other than protecting my kids a little bit more from information they might find out later down the road.
"That was not necessarily [due to] me but everything happens just like it’s supposed to and I don’t think you can say that in the good times and not say it in the hard times."
