Mario Lopez has deleted an AI-generated video of his niece after sparking backlash with the “creepy” clip.
The actor turned TV presenter took to his X and Instagram accounts to share a 15-second AI video of his 19-year-old niece Kalia Wong messily eating two hot dogs while with her uncle at a Los Angeles Dodgers game.
The computer-generated clip showed Kalia devouring the hot dogs, with the AI version of Mario yelling: “I can’t take her anywhere!”
The mustard and relish on the hot dog sprayed out of the mouth as AI Mario added “Oh my God, look at you!”
The AI Kalia then replied that the savoury treats are “so good”, before the video cuts to the computer-generated teenager smearing mustard all over her face.
People quickly took to the comments section of the video to have their say, with some labelling it “creepy” and “disturbing”.
One wrote: “Using AI to sexualise your niece is weird and disgusting.”
Another questioned: “Have you lost your damn mind?”
With someone else insisting: “This is a contender for the weirdest tweet of all time.”
And another adding: “You should be put on a watchlist for this.”
While someone else said: “So many things to hate here where do we start?”
Following the controversy, Mario deleted the video from both Instagram and X - but not before screenshots were taken and shared online.
He has not made any comment online, nor issued any statement via his representatives.
Kaila is the daughter of Mario’s sister Marissa and retired NFL player Kailee Wong.
Finding fame initially as an actor on shows such as Saved by the Bell, Mario went on to forge a successful presenting career.
He’s currently one of the hosts on Access Hollywood, and also presents syndicated radio program On with Mario Lopez.
