Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce will be 'a small intimate gathering'
Taylor Swift's upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce will reportedly be "a small intimate gathering" which will remain "private" and "highly secure".
Taylor Swift's upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce will reportedly be "a small intimate gathering".
The pop superstar accepted a proposal from the NFL player last year and they are rumoured to be tying the knot next month over America's Independence Day weekend (04-05.07.26) and speculation has been running wild over where the couple will exchange their vows, which celebrity guests will be in attendance and how the couple will spend their big day.
A new report now suggests the wedding will be much smaller than many have predicted and will remain "private".
A source told the Daily Mail Online: "Taylor's official wedding will not have 1,000 guests. There is a private and highly secure ceremony planned for her closest family and friends.
"Guests of the wider party have been encouraged to donate gifts to charity but her actual wedding will be a small intimate gathering."
It had previously been claimed Taylor and Travis could tie the knot at Madison Square Garden but the new report suggests the New York City concert venue is more likely to be used as a security screening area ahead of the nuptials with the superstar couple utilising QR code technology to keep their wedding guest list tightly controlled.
Another insider explained: "QR codes are going to be sent to guests. The only instructions they have are to arrive at MSG on July 3. The codes haven't gone out yet.
"A lot of guests think this may be a security screening to [then] go elsewhere because MSG is equipped for that with their facial recognition etc. But something involving the wedding is set there."
The report also suggests the idea of a New York wedding could be a ruse and the couple could actually be intending to wed at Taylor's beachside mansion in Rhode Island instead while another source claimed the couple may extend the celebrations and hold a number of different events across the US.
They said: "They are ... looking to have some more intimate get togethers with close family in New York and Rhode Island and of course Kansas City.
"They are looking to have a little bit of a wedding tour."
Previous reports suggested Madison Square Garden as a potential venue for the wedding because the busy building has no events booked from June 29 to July 6.
A source told the New York Post’s Page Six: “Everyone’s been sworn to secrecy. Privacy was of number one importance to both of them."
The report by Page Six added that "the potential plan would involve guests being transported to the venue on blacked-out buses and taking advantage of MSG’s multiple entrances and highly secure infrastructure".
