Spencer Pratt has promised "change" if he's elected the next mayor of Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old reality TV star is among the contenders to become the city's next mayor, and Spencer has encouraged Los Angeles residents to throw their support behind his bid.

Spencer - who has emerged as a frontrunner alongside incumbent mayor Karen Bass - said at a rally: "Everybody’s giving up because they’ve just accepted failure. Nothing changes.

"Things can change if you vote. So to people who didn’t vote for me, thank you for voting and caring about your city. I hope to switch you and show you you’re going to be voting for me in November, but regardless, we need four million people to vote in November."

Spencer - who is ten polling points ahead of Nithya Raman, a member of the Los Angeles City Council - is desperate to see more people vote in the mayoral election.

He said: "One thing I’ve learned is a lot of people don’t vote. My goal by November, whether it’s you’re voting for me or you’re voting for Mayor Bass, I’m going to get more people to vote."

Spencer recently claimed that he will leave Los Angeles if he isn't elected the city's new mayor.

The reality TV star vowed to pursue "the last American dream" in another US state if he isn't successful in his bid to become the city's next mayor.

Spencer - who has been an outspoken critic of his political rivals over recent months - told comedian Adam Carolla: "If Karen Bass gets re-elected, or Nithya [Raman] gets elected, I will be done with trying to live in Los Angeles."

In 2025, Spencer and Heidi Montag, his wife, filed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles and the Department of Water and Power (LADWP) after their home was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades fire.

Spencer is determined to win his legal case, but admits that he might look to rebuild his life in another state.

The reality star - who has been married to Heidi since 2008 - explained: "I'll take that money from the [Gov. Gavin] Newsom state park and the LADWP, and I'll go find somewhere that my kids will not have to see naked zombies and I can have the last American dream somewhere.

"I will not rebuild if these people are in charge. Because what would I be putting money into?"
