Monster Hunter Wilds will receive another ‘large-scale’ expansion later in 2026, Capcom teases
Monster Hunter Wilds will receive another "large-scale" expansion later this year that is similar to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Capcom has announced.
Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds will receive another “large-scale” expansion later in 2026.
The announcement came during a video celebrating the game’s first anniversary, where series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto teased a major update that will be similar in scope to the beloved Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion.
Tsujimoto said: “While this marks the end of major content updates, the team is currently hard at work on a large-scale expansion to Monster Hunter Wilds.
“We look forward to sharing the first reveal of the expansion this summer.”
While Tsujimoto kept specific details under wraps, he confirmed that this will be the “final update” for the game, signalling a significant conclusion to the current phase of Monster Hunter Wilds content.
In addition to the upcoming expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds players can expect a new update on February 18, which introduces the formidable Arch-Tempered Arkveld, a series of challenging 10-star Arc-Tempered monsters, and a special collaboration with the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, all past events and quests will return, and players will be rewarded with a free item pack.
Additionally, most previously released seasonal event quests will be made permanent, offering a chance for both new and returning players to catch up on exclusive content.
Despite some technical challenges, such as performance issues on the PC version, Capcom has worked to address these problems with recent updates.
Title Update 4, which included a slew of balance and gameplay improvements, also worked to optimise the game’s CPU and GPU performance.
