Russell Brand in court: 10 years… six alleged victims
Comedian-and-actor Russell Brand has been accused of committing three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault over a 10-year period, allegations he has pleaded not guilty to.
These are the allegations of rape, sexual assault and indecent assault Russell Brand has been accused of.
Alleged Victim One
Russell Brand allegedly raped a woman in September 1999 when he performed with a cabaret group at a fringe event during the Labour Party conference in Bournemouth.
The woman, then 27, had been impressed by his charm and apparent interest in her political activism and invited him back to her room where he proceeded to strip down to the waist while she was in the bathroom and prance around the room "a bit like an ostrich, doing silly walks like Basil Fawlty".
After claiming he was "mostly naked at home" Brand is accused of pushing her on to the bed and raping her.
Alleged Victim Two
Russell Brand allegedly attacked the second victim at MTV's Oxford Street studios in London in 2001.
After the complainant complimented Brand's T-shirt he offered to show her the toilets.
Once at the toilets Brand is accused of grabbing her as she resisted his advances and told him to stop.
She eventually broke free of his clutches and used the toilet before leaving the studios, but telling reception about the incident before exiting.
Alleged Victim Three
Russell Brand is accused of raping victim number three in a bar toilet in Soho, Central London, at a party hosted by a mutual friend.
Brand, 39 at the time, was approached by the victim, then 32, who wanted to speak to him about Big Brother.
He is alleged to have grabbed her and squeezed her breasts before pulling her inside the toilets where he allegedly attacked her.
Afterwards victim number three was left "walking around in a daze" before later being in a car with Brand and two men when he exposed himself and asked her to perform a sex act which she refused.
Alleged Victim Four
Alleged victim number four claims she was assaulted at work at a radio station.
Brand had been presenting Big Brother's Little Brother at the time and had arrived at the studio with a woman and some men.
The complainant claims that Brand noticed her as she was leaving the bulletin room and "instantly grabbed her by the face with both hands and pushed her up against a wall where he kissed her sloppily and aggressively, during this assault he also grabbed her body, her breasts, her sides and her buttocks aggressively".
She claims she finally was able to push him away telling Brand to "f*** off", and that a woman who had accompanied Brand to the studio witnessed the entire incident.
Alleged Victim Five
The alleged fifth victim had been 21 at the time of the attack and admits she consensual sex with Brand in his dressing room after a comedy gig at the Hammersmith Apollo in West London in February 2009.
She admitted she "admired him and fancied him" and met Brand in the foyer after he urged any women in the audience who fancied to come and see him after his show.
Brand later invited the woman to his home in Hampstead, North London, where she alleges he raped her.
Alleged Victim Six
The alleged sixth victim was working for Channel 4 in 2009 when the incident took place at a recording studio.
It is alleged that Brand was "unhappy and that he would not complete the [project] unless she gave him a massage", a request she thought was a joke.
When Brand then returned to the studio he is accused of falling to his knees and placing his head into the complainant's groin, when she looked at his team for help they "just gestured for her to massage the defendant".
She then claims she stuck her fingertips into Brand and told him he was "really bony" which caused his colleagues to laugh at him which angered the comic who then proceeded to insult her over her name and voice before completing the advert and leaving.
