Miley Cyrus will release her new album Bass Persuades later this month.

The 33-year-old star, who will now be billed simply as Miley professionally, has unveiled the release date for her upcoming 10th LP, and fans don't have long to wait.

She wrote on Instagram: "My tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, is yours September 18th."

Miley added that the title comes from the idea of music as something "powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong".

She continued: "Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.

“Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.

"Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker will celebrate the album's launch with two shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and 18.

She wrote in a separate announcement: "It's been a while.

"The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists.

"I've sat in those seats many times, but I've never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I'm bringing it home.

"See you there."
