Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding guests initially thought Adam Sandler officiating their nuptials was a joke.

The 1,000 guests were left laughing when the 59-year-old comedian appeared at the altar after he become legally ordained to marry the pop megastar and his friend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 36, at their reported $30 million nuptials inside Madison Square Garden, New York City, on July 3.

Recalling the memorable moment on the latest episode of The Compound and Friends podcast, attendee American Century Investments CEO Jonathan Thomas told hosts Sean Russo and Downtown Josh Brown: "Adam Sandler officiated it. He came down, everybody laughed and thought it was a joke at first.

"But he probably spoke for 20 or 30 minutes, vacillated between funny, very sincere, sang a few things during his officiating process.

"There are two things that I remember distinctly; one is in your typical vows the officiator says, 'For rich or for poor,' and he said, 'You’re not going to have to worry about that.'"

According to Jonathan, Adam told Taylor and Travis to "kiss each other every day, in the morning, at night after dinner, just kiss often".
