Sir Ian McKellen imagined destroying Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate for a scene in Avengers: Doomsday.

Directors Anthony, 56, and Joe Russo, 54, wanted the 87-year-old actor to unleash more rage in an explosive moment involving his alter ego, Magneto, so Ian thought of wrecking the 80-year-old US President's Florida residence.

Speaking at an open-air cinema in Rome, Italy, on Sunday (14.06.26), where 2,000 fans got a first look at the X-Men villain in the upcoming film - which hits the big screen on December 18 - Ian recalled, per The Guardian: "They got me at one point to destroy New Jersey."

After Ian rose from his seat to re-enact the destructive scene for the attendees, he explained that the Russo brothers wanted him to "look more furious: make it look as if you hate what you’re destroying".

The Oscar-nominee added: "So I stood there and I shouted, 'Mar-a-Lago!'"
