Rosie O'Donnell reveals she spent more money on a facelift than 'on a car'
Actress and comedian Rosie O'Donnell underwent a secret facelift in January, and she splashed out more money on the surgery than she has ever paid "for a car".
Rosie O'Donnell paid more money for a facelift than she ever has "for a car".
The 64-year-old actress and comedian went under the knife in January after months of deliberating whether to have the treatment, following opposition from her 13-year-old daughter Clay, and she almost feels "shameful" at paying such a hefty price.
She wrote on her Substack page: "As I move on in my 60s
With a rejuvenated lower face
As if it happened naturally
It didn’t
It cost more money
Than I have ever paid for a car
- my privileged place in this world
And that feels almost shameful to me
The things I have -
Earned some say
But its the gross excess that wounds me (sic)"
Rosie used to think undergoing a facelift was a "betrayal", and she previously vowed to "never ever" have such surgery.
But after shedding 50lbs, she started to research such procedures.
She added: "I used to feel very strongly about facelifts
Not casually - morally.
I had assigned myself as head
of all women who would never - ever
I thought it was a betrayal.
Of feminism. Of aging.
Of our team of women worldwide.
And then I lost 50 pounds...
It wasn’t wrinkles -
it was gravity
I’d look in the mirror and think, this isn’t aging,
this is melting with intention.
There’s a point where acceptance
starts to feel like lying. (sic)"
