As a child, the Brazilian beauty was a very devout Roman Catholic and after “going to church every Sunday” she wanted to dedicate her life to God.

She told Ocean Drive: “I’m very spiritual. I believe in nature, I believe in energy, I believe in spirits.”

In the end, Adriana decided to turn her attention to walking the catwalk, but she remains very religious and often carried a Bible backstage at her shows.

Martin Scorsese

The legendary director grew up in a very devout Catholic Sicilian family and entered a preparatory seminary aged 14 to become a priest.

Scorsese didn’t end up continuing his education at the school of theology, as his lack of discipline in class thwarted those plans and told ‘Good Morning America’: “I was invited to leave at the end of that year.”

Cinema welcomed him with open arms, and the rest is history!

'The Princess Diaries’ actress didn’t have dreams of wearing a tiara like most little girls, but a habit.

She felt the call from God at the age of 11 and thought she should become a nun.

Speaking in 2011, she shared: "When I was younger I thought about becoming a nun for a while. You know how it is when you're growing up and you're going to be a lot of different things, but I actually wanted to be an actress before I wanted to be a nun. The nun was more of a side-bar thing."

Eva Mendes

Before she became known as one of the most attractive actresses of her generation, Eva Mendes had her heart set on joining the church.

Mendes wanted to become a nun until her sister told her she wouldn’t be able to afford to buy their mother the “big house” and “car” of her dreams.

The star said: "And my sister said to me one day when I was 10, 'How are you going to buy mom all these things? You are going to be a nun and nuns don't get paid'. I said, 'What?' and that was it, my convent dreams were over."

He spent a year in a seminary before leaving to pursue an acting career.
