Selena Gomez reportedly left her mother Mandy Teefey “shattered” by choosing her grandfather David Cornett to walk her down the aisle at her wedding to Benny Blanco.

The singer, 33, got hitched to the music producer, 37, in Santa Barbara on Saturday (27.09.25), and sources say her decision on who to give her away has caused a rift in her family.

According to the Daily Mail, family sources claimed Mandy and Selena’s stepfather Brian were upset after learning David would be giving the singer away.

An insider told the outlet: “Selena’s mother and her stepfather Brian were shattered she didn’t choose her mother to walk her down the aisle. In a shock move she chose her grandfather David to give her away to Benny.”

The source added: “David and his wife Debbie broke down in tears of joy when she asked him. Selena made the decision as soon as they started planning the wedding.”

Selena exchanged vows with music producer Benny in a star-studded ceremony at a private estate. Guests included Taylor Swift, 35, who is reported to have arrived in Santa Barbara on Friday (26.09.25) afternoon under the cover of umbrellas, carrying a white box.

The celebrations began on Friday evening with a rehearsal dinner at an estate in Hope Ranch.

Selena’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars Martin Short, Paul Rudd and Steve Martin were photographed leaving their hotel to attend.
