Kim Kardashian's biographer has revealed the truth about her cosmetic surgeries.

Author Jonathan Van Meter collaborated with the reality TV star over five years to create new biography Citizen Kim - which chronicles her rise to fame - and he's revealed he chose not to write about The Kardashians star's changing appearance because it became so "weird and complicated" but he's now lifted the lid on long-running gossip about whether she's gone under the knife to alter her body.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Van Meter explained: "I didn’t write about this because it became so weird and complicated, but Kim has never had invasive plastic surgery. Her butt and boobs and nose - those are all her own … "

When asked "how do you know?" the writer replied: "Because she told me, and I trusted her.

"She said there were two plastic surgeons the family is friends with who used to fight about whether she’d had a nose job - each one thought the other had done it. Finally she said: 'Take an X-ray. Nobody has given me a f****** nose job."

In the interview, Van Meter also spoke about tracking down Kim's friends and family to add to the book and he revealed her former pal and employer Paris Hilton cancelled their planned interview 17 times and it infuriated Kim.

He said: "The interview [with Paris] was canceled 17 times over about four months. Eventually I thought the cancellations were more interesting than whatever she’d tell me. Kim was so mad when I told her.

"It seemed to stir up some ancient irritation between them. The creation turning on the creator."

Van Meter also revealed it took Kim's sister Kourtney Kardashian "around nine months" to agree to a chat while he decided against talking to Kim's ex-husband, Kanye West, because he was worried the controversial rapper "might ruin the book".

He said of West: "Kim initially said: 'Of course he’s going to talk to you.' But as his behavior grew more troubling, I didn’t think it would be ethical to interview somebody in the middle of a mental health crisis ...

"When he tipped into raging antisemitism, I thought it might ruin the book. He was central to her life, and suddenly he was a pariah.

"But Kim managed to separate herself from that, and in a way his absence kept the focus on her story. Later someone said that if you get him on the phone, he’ll talk for seven hours. I didn’t need seven hours straight from Kanye West."
