Natalie Portman is "full of wonder and joy" at her "magical" first baby with musician Tanguy Destable.

The couple welcomed their first child together in August, and their bundle of joy has given the 45-year-old actress a fresh appreciation on motherhood.

Natalie is also mom to her and 49-year-old ex-husband, dancer Benjamin Millepied's son Aleph, 15, and nine-year-old daughter Amalia.

In a new Harper's Bazaar cover story, she said: "It gives me a whole new attention to my big kids too, as I am reminded of how recently they were these little fresh creations and how quickly they’ve blossomed into incredible humans with their own amazing personalities and senses of humor and ideas."

The Thor: Love and Thunder star and Tanguy, 46, have kept details about their baby private, and living in Paris, France, has helped them maintain that privacy.

Natalie explained: “When I was pregnant in New York and L.A., I was followed by 20 men every day.

There’s so much interest in pregnant women in particular. I’d never been bothered more.

"And here, they know, and I’ve been almost completely left alone."

In April, the Star Wars alum confirmed she was expecting her third child, her first with Tanguy, whom she has been dating since early 2025.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, Natalie shared: "Tanguy and I are very excited.

"I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle."

The Oscar winner is the child of a fertility doctor, and she is very aware of the challenges facing older women.

She said: "I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant.

"I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well.

"It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing. And so I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude."

Natalie admitted that her latest pregnancy feels different from her earlier ones.

The Black Swan entertainer explained: "There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp.

"And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day.

"And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment."

Natalie revealed that she relished being pregnant in Paris, where she has lived on and off for a number of years.

The No Strings Attached cast member explained: "There’s been beautiful spring weather, so it’s been pretty amazing to just walk in the incredible parks here and go see art. Just the usual things you do when you’re not working!

"In France, they consider full-term to be 41 weeks rather than 40, so I guess I get an extra week to be pregnant this time around."

Natalie was not paying too much attention to outside influences, either.

She said: "I’m not really looking at social media that much.

"I think maybe just having done it twice before … I read so many books the first time, and now I’m like, ‘Oh, we know what to do.’ It’s okay. You figure it out. We’re going to make lots of mistakes, no matter how hard we try."

From 2012 until 2024, Natalie was married to choreographer Benjamin, with whom she co-parents Aleph and Amalia.
