Selma Blair is “doing great” following a medical emergency which led to her airport arrest earlier this month.

The 54-year-old actress was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City on October 11, before being taken to a hospital following an alleged altercation with cabin crew members.

Her spokesperson later confirmed she had suffered a medical event relating to her multiple sclerosis (MS), with Sasha Farber - Selma’s professional dance partner on Dancing With the Stars in 2022 - saying he’s been in touch with her following the incident.

He told People: “I have been talking to Selma. She’s doing great and I’m thinking of her.”

Sasha added: “We are family. She is literally my family.”

He also said that he keeps in touch with many of the famous faces he’s partnered with on Dancing With the Stars, as he continued: “I talk to everyone from Selma to... Mary Lou Retton literally just texted me two nights ago, telling me that I saved her life, and she’s so grateful.

“She’s at the Bahamas, and she’s on a cruise, and just having a good time.”

In 2018, Selma confirmed that she'd been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord.

Her spokesperson confirmed earlier this month that Selma “also has pseudobulbar affect, a neurological condition secondary to her MS, which bears directly on how a medical episode presents to people who do not know her”.

The representative continued: “For the same reason, she travels with a service dog who doesn’t leave her side, and the authorities took her dog from her."

The Hollywood star remains a "visible and relentless advocate for disability rights, for the MS community, and this year for the Jewish community in the face of rising antisemitism, including from the stage of the ADL’s State of the Arts event at The Jewish Museum two weeks ago. Selma had never been arrested before Sunday night."

The spokesperson added that there is "much more to this story than has been reported, and we ask to consider the entirety of the facts before rushing to judgement, whether in the courtroom or in the court of public opinion".
