Luke Bryan's son has undergone surgery after breaking his collarbone.

The 50-year-old country singer took to social media to reveal his 18-year-old son Thomas "Bo" Bryan was set to go under the knife.

In an Instagram video alongside his wife Caroline Bryan and son Bo, Luke said: "Well, it’s us. Going for surgery."

Caroline later admitted her high school football player son will "be back", and she shared a picture of Bo wearing a hospital gown, alongside her and Luke, who was making a funny face.

She wrote on Instagram: "Not the best day for Bo, or our family, but he’ll be back!!!! Dang collarbone...and of course Luke can’t take a serious picture! @bo_bryan15 @lukebryan (sic)"

Bo, a quarterback for Battle Ground Academy, suffered the injury after he was sacked during the team's first quarter match against Division II-AA Middle Region rival Pope John Paul II last Friday (16.10.26).

He is quoted by the Nashville Tennessean as saying: "I thought it was just a stinger when I hit the ground.

"Once I got up I knew something was wrong.

"When I got to the sideline, I really knew something was wrong."

BGA coach Bobby Bentley said: "I don't know what we're looking at yet.

"We'll have to figure this thing out.

"That's the challenge for us as a team and as coaches. What do we do? How do we do it? We're going to figure it out."

Luke - who also has son Tate, 16 - is no stranger to medical treatment himself.

In 2021, he had to have a fishhook removed after it got stuck in his thumb.

Luke was enjoying a relaxing day on the water when he accidentally got the lure embedded deep in his digit, but remained cheerful throughout his painful ordeal, which he detailed in a series of videos on Instagram.

He shared a close-up of the two prongs of the hook along with the caption: "Dammit."

And as he zoomed in on his hand, he said in a video clip: "Well, this is gonna leave a mark. Pretty sure that's in my bone."

His wife, Caroline, commented: "'I leave your a** for 2 hours and this happens....damn baby."

The One Margarita singer then documented his visit to a medical center to have the hook removed.

Speaking in a car with his friend Russ driving, Luke joked he had "ruined" their day out, but vowed not to let his injury stop them getting back to fishing.

He quipped: "Well, I invited Russ, my guitar tech, on a fishing trip, and leave it to me... I ruined the fishing trip.

"But we'll be back on the water in about 25 minutes."

A few hours later, Luke and Russ were back on their boat.

The country crooner said in a video: "'Got the hook out! We're back!"
