Catherine Zeta-Jones relished using her Welsh accent in Kill Jackie.

The 57-year-old actress - who was born in Swansea, south Wales - usually adopts an American accent for her work, but Catherine enjoyed using her Welsh accent in Kill Jackie, the new thriller series.

Catherine - who plays the part of Jackie Price in the new show - told Extra: "I was able to use my own accent … My Welsh accent, which I’ve never used ever.

"Doing my own voice grounded Jackie in a way for me. And also, as an actor, there’s a part of your brain when you’re doing an accent that you're always kind of thinking about that. And sometimes it can take you out of a moment. It was liberating for me to just speak."

Catherine explained that the original story focused on a male character, but it was updated from Jack to Jackie for the Prime Video show.

Speaking about the pilot, the actress explained: "It’s reminiscent of Everything Everywhere All at Once where we push the reality and so we can kind of like get away with some crazy stunts and some crazy assassins trying to kill me, you know, and all that stuff. So, it’s really like a roller coaster ride and I just had the best time."

Catherine has been married to Hollywood star Michael Douglas since 2000, and she recently credited kindness and humour as the reasons for their enduring happiness.

She told E! News: "Being kind to each other. And we have a very similar, sick, dry sense of humour. Which, in any circumstance that you find yourself in, within 28 years—we were two years together before we got married—you’ve got to find humour in it.

"It may not be funny at the time, but you got to look back at it and go, ‘You gotta laugh at that now, remember when that happened?'"
