Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford raise record-breaking 7-figure sum for children's charity
Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford hosted their first Los Angeles Wassail benefit, raising a record-breaking $7.65 million for Children in Conflict to support over one million children in war zones globally.

The showbiz power couple hosted their annual star-studded Wassail benefit at Los Angeles' El Rey Theatre on Sunday night (04.10.26) to raise money for Children in Conflict, a non-profit organization that aims to protect, educate, and provide vital mental health support to children living in war zones and high-conflict areas globally.
Actress Carey announced the amount raise to gasps from the audience, and she said: "This is more money than we have ever raised before."
Singer Marcus - who wed Carey in 2012 - added: "This money will help us bring support to over one million children in war zones.
"We are so grateful to the L.A. community."
Jack Whitehall was MC for the special evening, which featured actresses Emma Watson, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Courteney Cox, and Kristen Bell on the guest list.
Kristen's husband, actor and comedian Dax Shepard was also present, as were David Chang, Lee Sung Jin, Sarah Polley, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Simon Kinberg, Cleo Wade Kristie Macosko Krieger, and Kathleen Kennedy.
Marcus took to the stage to perform with his band, Mumford + Sons, and there were also performances from Brandi Carlile, Sierra Ferrell and Jensen McRae.
Hollywood stars Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis performed readings on the night.
Carey and Marcus have previously held charity events in London and New York, but Sunday's spectacle was their first ever Children in Conflict event in Los Angeles.
Children in Conflict CEO Rob Williams said: "Our work and the children we work with seem to have captured the hearts of a new community of support in Los Angeles.
"We are so delighted to have the chance to reach more children than ever before.
"We will be running more events in Los Angeles next year and would love more people to get involved."
