Taylor Swift confirms CMA appearance after earning first nomination in 4 years

Taylor Swift has confirmed she will attend the Country Music Awards (CMAs) for the first time in 10 years.

In a post on her Instagram Stories on Thursday (10.09.26), Taylor responded to the news that her song I Knew It, I Knew You is up for Single of the Year at the prestigious awards ceremony - the first CMA she’s been nominated for in four years.
Sharing a picture of the nomination announcement, Taylor wrote over the top: “LOOKS LIKE I HAVEN’T YEE’D MY LAST HAW THANK YOU CMA!!!!”
She then appeared to confirm she’ll be walking the red carpet at the awards in November, as she wrote: “See you there Nov. 18.”
Taylor faces some strong competition in her category, however.
Ella Langley is nominated for two songs - Choosin’ Texas and Be Her - while Lainey Wilson earned a nod for Somewhere Over Laredo and Cody Johnson completed the nominees with his track The Fall.
Ella also leads the nominations as a whole, with 10, followed by Miranda Lambert with seven, and Kacey Musgraves and Ben West, each of whom received five.
Taylor last appeared at the CMA Awards back in 2016, to present the Entertainer of the Year Award to Garth Brooks.
She wasn’t a stranger to the awards category at the time either, as she’d won it herself in 2009 and 2011. She was also nominated for the gong in 2012 and 2013.
I Knew It, I Knew You, taken from the soundtrack of Toy Story 5, has been a huge hit for Taylor, and also became the 13th song of hers to top the U.S. country radio charts as a solo artist.
Taylor is also widely expected to earn a Best Original Song Oscar nomination for the sweet track.
