Anne Hathaway reveals survival skill she learned during movie shoot
Anne Hathaway has revealed what she learned while shooting The End of Oak Street.
Anne Hathaway learned the value of a "sense of humour" on the set of The End of Oak Street.
The Oscar-winning actress stars alongside Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery in The End of Oak Street, the new sci-fi survival film, and Anne has revealed the survival skill she learned through the shoot.
Anne, 43, told People: "You know, in hindsight, I was thinking about what’s the most important survival skill that you can have, and I think it’s a sense of humour.
"If you can do cool things, and you know how a Swiss Army knife works, that’s definitely going to be helpful. You can build a fire, that’s awesome.
"But the thing that’s really going to get you through is being able to laugh, I think."
Ewan, on the other hand, recalled learning something more practical.
The actor quipped: "Always have a sledgehammer at the ready. It’s always important. I keep one under my bed now, just in case. Yeah, a sledgehammer is very useful."
Despite this, Ewan jokingly added: "A sense of humour is a much better answer!"
Meanwhile, Anne recently revealed that she's relished her jam-packed work schedule in 2026.
The actress has starred in a host of big-budget movies already this year, including Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey and The End of Oak Street - but Anne has embraced the busyness of it all.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: "When I got my schedule for this year from all the wonderful film studios that I’ve worked with, I saw it and I kind of thought I was being punked.
"But then they showed me that no, no, no, all these [release] dates were going to hold and I just said as long as audiences don’t get sick of my face — which I wouldn’t blame them, I would not blame them if they did — let’s go."
The actress is currently promoting The End of Oak Street, which was written, co-produced, and directed by David Robert Mitchell, and Anne feels proud of the project.
She said: "It’s David Robert Mitchell in the director’s chair, directing a script that he wrote, and I’ve never seen anything like this so I was just really happy to be a part of it."
