Monica Barbaro loves 'super romantic' New York City
Movie star Monica Barbaro has spoken of her love for New York City.
Monica Barbaro thinks New York is a "super romantic city".
The 36-year-old actress has fond memories of living in the city and she feels some "depressive withdrawals" whenever the time comes to leave.
The brunette beauty - who is dating fellow Hollywood star Andrew Garfield - told Interview magazine: "The most fun nights out have been in New York.
"I sometimes wonder if that’s because I always dream of coming back and living in New York. I actually go through depressive withdrawals every time I leave. I felt that way in December when we finished filming. It’s a super romantic city. It’s so fun to go on dates in this city."
Monica observed that the Big Apple "feels really tapped into the universe".
She explained: "I actually weirdly run into friends here more than anywhere else. It just feels really tapped into the universe, telling you you need to see or meet this person."
Meanwhile, Monica previously played Joan Baez in A Complete Unknown, the 2024 biographical film about the early career of Bob Dylan.
The actress described meeting Baez as a "trippy" experience.
Speaking to the Guardian newspaper, Monica explained: "It was so strange to hear in person the voice I’d been obsessing over for so long. There’s a worship quality to it; I felt in complete awe of her. It was kind of a whirlwind moment.
"We’ve kept in touch. I think now, with all the pressure off, it would be really cool to sit down with her for an afternoon and just talk. I can hear her songs again and not panic."
Monica earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her role in the film and she described the achievement as "totally surreal".
The actress - who starred alongside Timothee Chalamet, Edward Norton and Elle Fanning in the movie - said: "It seemed embarrassing to want it, or celebrate it, and I needed to confront that it was something I’d love to have. Then, when it happened – unbridled joy."
