Kathy Griffin has claimed her "former friend" Dave Grohl ignored her during a chance encounter at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport following her controversial Donald Trump photoshoot.
The 65-year-old comedienne said she and the Foo Fighters frontman, 57, "used to be kind of friendly", and they even shot a promotional video for the rock band together in 2011.
But after her May 2017 photoshoot in which she posed with a fake, severed head covered in stage blood that resembled the US President, Kathy said she felt many celebrities wanted to distance themselves from her.
On the latest episode of her Talk Your Head Off YouTube series, Kathy recalled: "I ran into him at JFK. It was at the newsstand.
"I didn’t want to initiate a conversation because I was so used to celebrities not wanting anything to do with me or wanting anyone to even see them standing next to me - and telling me so.
"Then Dave acted like he didn’t know me. Maybe he didn’t see me, because I’m so hard to miss at a newsstand."
The Pulp Fiction actress later said that she and the Everlong hitmaker were sitting "two seats away from" each other on the plane.
However, Kathy did not approach him because she feared it may be awkward if Dave was ignoring her because of the Trump-head photoshoot.
The entertainer said: "Then I thought maybe I should go up to him. I thought, no, if he’s being like this because of the Trump-head picture scandal, it’s just going to be awkward.
"That’s why I say my ‘former friend.’ Still an A-plus musician, but has some issues as being the only nice dude in rock and roll. Maybe. OK, Dave. You know you saw me."
In May, Dave said he almost walked away from music following Kurt Cobain's death in April 1994 at the age of 27, until he witnessed a sign from the "universe".
The musician - who starred alongside Kurt in the rock band Nirvana - explained on an episode of CBS' The Late Show with Stephen Colbert: "When Nirvana ended, I wasn't sure what to do. I didn't know if I wanted to continue playing music.
"It made me sad to think of playing in another band and losing Nirvana, losing Kurt was a really dark, emotional experience."
Searching for clarity, Dave rented a car and drove around the Ring of Kerry in Ireland, and it was there that he received the sign he needed.
He said: "All I wanted to do was disappear. As I was driving down this country road, I see a hitchhiker, and he had a Kurt Cobain T-shirt on. To me, I thought, this is the universe telling me, 'You have to continue. You have to move on. You have to go forward.'"
The encounter convinced him to press on with his musical career.
He said: "Music has always been the love of my life. It's helped me through some of my most difficult moments, and when I saw the kid with the Kurt Cobain t-shirt, I thought, 'OK. I need to keep going.' I have so much reverence and respect for the past, but I need to have a future."
