Khloe Kardashian has shared a poignant tribute to her grandmother Mary Jo 'MJ' Shannon following her death at the age of 91 revealing MJ gave her one of the "greatest blessings" of her life.
Khloe Kardashian has shared a poignant tribute to her grandmother Mary Jo 'MJ' Shannon following her death at the age of 91.
The reality TV star's mother Kris Jenner took to Instagram on Thursday (16.07.26) to share the tragic news and now Khloe has posted a lengthy message revealing MJ gave her one of the "greatest blessings" of her life.
In a post on Instagram, Khloe wrote: "Thank you for showing us that life is meant to be celebrated, that laughter is healing, and that love is the greatest legacy we can leave behind. You lived so fully, so gracefully, and so beautifully.
"One of my greatest blessings will always be that my children knew their great-grandmother. That they experienced your hugs, your stories, your joy, and the incredible light you carried so effortlessly."
The Kardashians star went on to add: "You taught us that love never leaves. It lives on in the family you built, the traditions we’ll continue, the stories we’ll tell, and every time we choose joy. Your love will forever be woven into who we are.
"Thank you for every lesson, every laugh, every embrace, and every piece of your heart you gave so freely. You were truly one of one.
"I know Heaven welcomed you with open arms, surrounded by everyone who has been waiting to see you again. And I know you kept your promise telling my daddy just how deeply we love him and how much we miss him.
"I know you’re happy having your coke, tuna sandwich and graham crackers with papa Harry while Karen dances around you. Until we meet again, my sweet MJ! I love you."
It comes after Khloe's sister Kim also remembered MJ in a sweet message shared on social media. Kim wrote: "My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin ...
"You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!! You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman. "
Kim praised MJ for teaching her about “work ethic, strength and confidence” after landing her a job at her store in San Diego.
She continued: “You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us."
Kim added: “You will always be a part of me, I love you soooooo much and I will miss you forever and ever. YOU ARE THE BEST OF US!!!
"I know you are up in heaven, looking at all of our Instagram posts of you from your sneaky finsta account you would always use lol."
Kris had earlier paid tribute to her mom, writing: “Every memory, every moment, every blessing, it was all because of you, and I will forever thank God every single day for making you my mummy.
"My heart is broken into a million pieces … thank you for giving me the greatest childhood and oh what a beautiful blessed life … I love you forever Mummy. Thank you for giving us everything."
