'Nothing is what it seems': Britney Spears plays down behaviour concerns following Los Angeles highway incident
Britney Spears has rubbished concerns about her behaviour after she was spotted standing through the moonroof of a vehicle on a highway in Los Angeles earlier this week.
Britney Spears has dismissed concerns about her seemingly bizarre antics on a Los Angeles highway.
Video footage emerged earlier this week of the Toxic hitmaker, 44, standing through the moonroof of an SUV driving on the 101 Freeway but she has taken to Instagram to claim that "nothing is what it seems" when it comes to the incident.
Sharing a screenshot of herself peering out of the car on the social media platform, Britney wrote: "What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords!!!! Yet the days and hours of my reality!!!!! Nothing is what it seems.
"Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more."
Britney is believed to have spent around two minutes standing through the moonroof of the vehicle - which was being driven by a man in a cowboy hat - before it left the highway and pulled into a gas station, and a source claimed that the troubled star was simply inspecting the "traffic" ahead of the car.
The insider told the Daily Mail: "Britney just went through the sunroof for a quick moment.
"She wanted to see what the traffic was about up ahead because the cars came to a stop."
The highway episode is the latest strange incident involving the ...Baby One More Time singer in recent months.
In May, Britney was said to be acting "erratic" and walking around with a knife during a night out for dinner - although a representative for the star claimed that events were being "completely blown out of proportion".
They said: "This constant attack on everything that she does, and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous, and it needs to stop now."
Meanwhile, Britney previously explained that she is on a "spiritual journey" after checking into rehab following her arrest for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI) in California earlier this year.
In an Instagram post where she posed with a snake in her hands whilst out and about with her children Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, whom she has with her former husband Kevin Federline, she wrote: "Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what a beautiful baby snake this is.
"Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck…
"I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise.(sic)"
