King Charles has been reunited with his grandchildren Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, for the first time in four years.

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has lived in California with wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and their two children, after the family relocated Stateside in 2020.

The pair had initially planned to visit the UK with their children, but Harry arrived solo earlier this week following disagreements over plans for his stay - including where he would be staying, and the security he would have.

However, Buckingham Palace confirmed on Friday (10Jul26) that Charles and Queen Camilla hosted Harry, Meghan and their children at Highgrove House - the king’s country residence in Gloucestershire, England.

No images will be released from the reunion, and no further details will be provided, as it was a "private family occasion”, the palace said.

It’s unclear where the Harry, Meghan and the children are staying while in the UK, but it’s believed they had been holidaying in Europe prior to Harry’s journey to the UK.

The new meeting marks the first time Archie and Lili have been in the UK since June 2022, when they travelled over to attend the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth.

But the children didn’t make any appearances at public events during their time in England.

Both Harry and Charles were busy on Friday morning, with the king visiting Oxfordshire while his youngest son tried out some of the sports that will be at the 2027 Invictus Games.

Harry’s older brother Prince William, the Prince of Wales, was supported by his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales, as he played a charity polo match in Windsor.

According to sources, Harry has no plans to meet up with his estranged sibling while in the UK.

Friday’s meeting is believed to be the first time Harry has seen his dad since September 2025.

At that time, Harry was seen arriving at the king’s London home - Clarence House - by car, and spent around 55 minutes inside before leaving.
