James Van Der Beek’s widow pays tribute to everlasting love
James Van Der Beek’s widow has taken to Instagram to share their everlasting love, four months after his death from cancer.
James Van Der Beek’s widow says “love does not die”, four months after his death.
The 48-year-old Dawson’s Creek star passed away in February from cancer, leaving behind wife Kimberly, 44, and their six children - Olivia, 15, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 12, Emilia, nine, Gwendolyn, seven, and four-year-old Jeremiah.
And, Kimberly took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late spouse, who died after battling stage III colorectal cancer.
She wrote: “Baby, love does not die. Death does not part.”
She also shared a number of pictures of herself and James together.
Friends took to the comments to praise Kimberly and James’ relationship.
Twilight actress Nikki Reed – who is married to Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder – wrote: “If ever two were one, then surely we.” Anytime I think about that quote, I think about the two of you. Forever and always, James and Kimberly. I love you so much.”
Former chat show host Ricki Lake posted a heart emoji and model and actress Brooklyn Decker wrote: “You love lives on forever.”
Kimberly announced James’ death via social media in February.
She wrote: “Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.”
She has also been open about her bereavement journey, writing previously on Instagram: “Yesterday was three months since we lost @vanderjames. To say I’m heartbroken is a severe understatement. Words just don’t capture what grief is. The comforts of shock have worn off. The reality is settling in … and I miss him. We all miss him. Yet, there is a different kind of magic in the air.
“I feel him. I know him more deeply. My conscious connection to God has deepened. The veils of the universe have thinned. And I trust that this is the path me and my family have always been intended to walk. The outpouring of support has been tremendous. It’s held our family in the most beautiful of ways.”
