Amanda Seyfried "really cherishes" her friendship with her Mean Girls co-star Lindsay Lohan.

The pair met while working on the 2004 comedy and they've stayed in touch over the years with Amanda revealing their "shared experience" on the set of the film has grown into a "meaningful friendship".

She told GQ magazine: "We’re almost the same age. I also wasn’t working at that level [when we made Mean Girls]. The spotlight was on her, no matter what she did.”

"We’ve stayed close because there’s genuine trust and respect between us. What started as shared experience has grown into a meaningful friendship over time."

Amanda - who has two children with her husband Thomas Sadoski - went on to reveal the pair's friendship has evolved since they both became mothers as Lindsay welcomed a baby boy with her partner Bader Shammas in 2023.

The Housemaid star added: "Now we talk more about life, motherhood and our families. She’s always someone I can rely on. That consistency is rare and something I really cherish."

Lindsay endured a tough time throughout her 20s as she battled addiction issues and legal dramas before getting sober.

In her interview with GQ, Amanda confessed she also went through a wild period in her 20s, but she was too terrified to try cocaine and she always wanted to end her nights out sober enough to get herself home safely.

She explained: "My 20s were ridiculous. I found myself at many places. I also remember there was a time I could have done cocaine for the first time at the Chateau [Marmont hotel in Los Angeles], and I didn’t because I was scared.

"And so there was a limit to how much partying I was going to do, because I only wanted to be so drunk that I could [still] get myself home."

Amanda also recalled one time when she ended up in Val Kilmer's swimming pool with her Mean Girls co-stars Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett, telling the publication: " I mean, did I go clubbing? Yeah. Did I find myself at Val Kilmer’s house one night at 1am with Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett? Did I find myself there with them in the pool?

"I was 18 and I had just moved to LA and we had gone to a screening of Reefer Madness. I was at Val Kilmer’s house - I don’t even remember meeting him, but I was at his house."
