Rumer Willis' ex accuses Demi Moore of wanting to 'destroy' him
Rumer Willis' ex-boyfriend. Derek Richard Thomas, has claimed Demi Moore threatened to "destroy" him in new court documents.
Rumer Willis' ex-boyfriend has claimed Demi Moore threatened to "destroy" him.
The House Bunny actress submitted a court declaration last week opposing a request from Derek Richard Thomas - who she split from in August 2024 after two years of dating - for a child custody order in relation to their three-year-old daughter Louetta, and in the documents she detailed his alleged abusive behaviour, to which he has now hit back with an explosive response.
In documents obtained by The US Sun, the 39-year-old musician alleged Rumer didn't want her family around in the weeks after Loretta's birth, but her mother ignored her wishes.
He wrote that Rumer had told him “directly that she did not want her family present for the first 40 days after Louetta’s birth in 2023."
The documents added: “Nonetheless, on the day after Louetta was born, Ms. Moore and household staff members came into the home and caused a significant disturbance.
“On this occasion, Ms. Moore, apparently based on something said by [Rumer], threatened to ‘Destroy me.'”
Derek - who has denied the allegations of abuse - took another swipe at "overbearing" Demi when he voiced his objections to his former partner moving out of California to Idaho with Louetta.
He wrote: "At no time did | agree to move out of state with [Rumer],” and that he never agreed to allow her to relocate with Loretta after her birth."
And he alleged that during their relationship, the 37-year-old actress “stated on several occasions that she wished to move to Texas or another out-of-state location in order to be free from her mother’s overbearing and hostile conduct.”
In her own court filing, Rumer had alleged Derek had shown a "persistent pattern" of "insane emotional abuse" since they separated, which she claimed was "often in front of the minor child or while they were trapped in the car with him."
The 37-year-old star claimed her former partner has engaged in "ongoing coercive control through prolonged circular verbal attacks that he is unable or unwilling to stop."
Rumer alleged Derek had engaged in such behaviour for "over six hours at a time on what became a daily basis", and claimed his "erratic and bizarre" conduct "escalated" after Louetta was born.
In her filing, in which she is seeking primary custody of the youngster, she wrote: "I was constantly trying to keep the peace and walk on eggshells.
"He wanted to isolate me from my friends and family.
"He constantly called me a liar with no reason behind it. He told me I was a bad girlfriend all the time."
Rumer told how Derek allegedly showed "paranoid behaviour" and was convinced she and her mom Demi Moore were "plotting" to take Louetta away from him.
She wrote: "For a long time, it was difficult for me to stand up to [Thomas] as I tried to avoid his emotional tirades and abuse even for a long time after he moved out."
She explained she doesn't want her former partner to have "overnights or time with Louetta" without an Evidence Code Section 730 child custody evaluation because the tot has been left "traumatised" and "crying a lot" as a result of his alleged behaviour.
Her documents were backed up by a declaration from Demi herself, in which the 63-year-old actress said she had witnessed "aggressive" behaviour from the musician when Rumer gave birth at home.
She wrote: "[Thomas] had no consideration to Rumer, the baby, the process or anyone else for that matter. He essentially ruined what should've been one of the happiest moments of [Rumer's] life."
