Lisa Ann Walter joked that fans will "kill [her]" if she failed to perfectly recite this iconic line from The Parent Trap.

The 62-year-old actress played Chessy, the sharp-witted nanny and housekeeper, in the 1998 version of the Disney family romcom film.

It sees identical twins Hallie Parker and Annie James (both Lindsay Lohan) switch places to meet their mom, Elizabeth James (Natasha Richardson), and dad, Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid), after being separated at birth.

Almost 30 years later, fans of the movie still quote the line that Lisa’s alter ego said to Nick when Chessy realises that Hallie is Annie: "Like what? I'm not looking at her any special way.

"I'm looking at her like I've looked at her for 11 years, since the day she came home from the hospital. 6 pounds 11 ounces, 21 inches long, this is how I look at her."

And Lisa joked to People that she has to get the line exactly right every time, otherwise "the fans will kill me".

After appearing in The Parent Trap, Lisa went on to appear in the likes of Bruce Almighty, Shall We Dance?, and Abbott Elementary.

But it is The Parent Trap that fans always want to talk to her about.

She said: "A lot of people, for most people, they discovered me from The Parent Trap, or some of the TV shows that I did."

The Parent Trap was special for Lisa as it brought her and her best pal, Elaine Hendrix (Meredith Blake), together.

In a joint interview with Us Weekly in January, the duo reflected on their enduring relationship, with Elaine, 55, defining their bond as "sisters" before Lisa went further with "soulmates".

Elaine clarified that their relationship is like being "married without the romance", before she added: "A best friend who will help you move a body."

The pair sat next to each other in the waiting room for their Parent Trap screen tests in 1997, and they immediately got on like a house on fire.

Asked when they realised there was a connection between them, Elaine said: "I think from the beginning. We just got together and talked, talked, talked…"

Lisa chimed in: "Elaine and I are both actors, so we access our emotions easily … We also have a rule that neither one of us can lose our s*** at the same time. Can you believe that? We trade off on who’s falling apart. "

Lisa then revealed: "We wrote a script together early on in our relationship. We were close, but when we got done writing that script, we were one. It was a girl buddy movie when they weren’t doing those. We were very much before the whole Bridesmaids."

Elaine added: "That was, like, right after Parent Trap. As a matter of fact, if anybody wants to fund it…"

Their bond is so strong that Lisa wants Elaine to have some of her ashes.

In March 2024, Lisa told People she would "absolutely" make a sequel to The Parent Trap with 39-year-old Lindsay.

Lisa added: "I would love to go back for another version of it — or if [Lohan] wants to come on to our show, I’d love that, too."
