Kim Kardashian has reportedly turned down the chance to retake the California bar exam this year.

The Kardashians star, 45, has been studying law in her quest to become a qualified attorney but she suffered a major setback when she failed her final test last year and she needs to retake it if she wants to fulfil her dream of becoming a lawyer, but a new report suggests Kim won't be trying again this year because she's just too busy to commit to her studies.

A source told New York Post column PageSix: "Kim has a packed schedule and has been heavily involved in filming and production for several projects so she decided it’s best to skip this round of the bar exam and focus on taking it again when she feels ready.

"When Kim has her mind made up on something, she gives it her all, and this isn’t something she’s taking lightly.

"Most people who take the bar exam dedicate months leading up to the test and focus all their energy on preparing,” the insider said. “But she is working nonstop as a single mom and trying to do it all."

The insider added: "This exam can put a lot of pressure on anybody. There’s a lot at stake and she’s put so much time and effort into this already. But on top of that, there are so many eyes on her, so it just adds a whole other level of weight to it."

It comes after Kim previously revealed she was consoled by former US President Barack Obama after failing the bar exam explaining he gave her some words of encouragement and revealed his wife Michelle also flunked the test on her first try.

In an interview with Complex magazine, Kim explained: "Afterwards, so many people told me about others who hadn’t passed, and offered encouragement. "Even at a charity dinner, Obama told me Michelle didn’t pass on her first try.

"So many amazing attorneys and people I respect reached out, saying Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris also didn’t pass the first time. So it’s not the end of the world, but no excuses - you just do better."

After initially failing the test, Kim vowed not to try again but she later changed her mind and confirmed she was determined to give the exam another shot.

She told the publication: "Interestingly, I said going into it that I would never try again. I called it a 'one and done' because of time and energy constraints. But the day after, I started studying again and haven’t stopped.

"One day, I’ll retake it. I don’t know when; I have to find the time. But I don’t think I could live with myself if I don’t try again. I can’t pass up the opportunity. I didn’t come this far just to give up."
