Halle Bailey is "trying to figure out life".

The 26-year-old actress stars alongside Rege-Jean Page in You, Me and Tuscany, the new romcom movie, and Halle admits that she can see similarities between her on-screen character and her real-life self.

Halle - who has Halo, two, with her ex-partner DDG - told People: "I think it's all about just using your real life experiences to influence the character and connecting with the character."

The actress hopes that cinemagoers will develop an affinity with her on-screen character.

She said: "Sometimes you gotta fake it till you make it, but you get through it, and you get back up. And I love that about Anna, and I hope that people love that about her too when they go watch the film."

Halle also relished the experience of working with Rege-Jean.

She shared: "He's a cool guy and he likes to run in the mornings. He likes to work out."

Halle previously admitted to being a huge fan of Bridgerton.

The actress revealed which character she would most like to play in the hit Netflix period drama, and Halle admitted that she has her eye on one of the show's most powerful roles.

Speaking to the Guardian, Halle said: "I love Bridgerton, yes. I would want to be the queen, because she is amazing, gets to choose the diamond of the season, matchmake and watch people fall in love."

Halle heaped praise on her co-star, too.

She said: "Rege is so funny. He's such a warm, kind-hearted guy.

"I feel his English accent really comes out now that we're here in London. When we're in my home — LA — it goes in and out. I hope some of his English charm rubbed off on me."

What's more, Halle revealed that she'd love to take on a horror role next, having been left impressed by Sinners, which starred Michael B Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld.

She said: "I'd love to do a horror. When I saw Sinners, I thought, 'I wish I was in that movie!' All the things that I've done so far are very nice but lighthearted, so I'd love to do something a bit heavier."
