Tom Brady has relaxed his diet since retiring from the NFL.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner famously stuck to a rigid diet during his gridiron career but explained that he has relented in retirement because of the "reality of life".

Tom - who has son Jack, 18, with his former partner Bridget Moynahan, as well as children Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13, from his marriage to supermodel Gisele Bundchen - told CNBC: "I think it's moderation in all things, and I think there's probably been, people have kinda gone overboard with the rigidity of my lifestyle or diet.

"I have kids and I have Halloweens and birthday parties and we're like a normal family, so I try to make really healthy choices as often as possible. But when you're watching football games and you're at games, you're travelling and you're in airports, I understand the reality of life as well."

Brady even revealed that he often makes Nutella-based treats for his children.

The 48-year-old former quarterback said: "I make Nutella pancakes for my kids. When we were over in Milan for the (Winter) Olympics we were eating Nutella pizzas."

Tom recently revealed that he floated the idea of an NFL comeback but explained that the league was against the idea because the star is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders team.

The sports star - who has served as an analyst for Fox Sports since retiring from the NFL in 2022 - said last week: "I actually have inquired, and they don't like that idea very much. So I'm going to leave it at that.

"We explored a lot of different things, and I'm very happily retired. Let me just say that, too."

Meanwhile, Tom previously recalled how his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was "a challenge" because he was in the midst of separating from Bundchen at the time.

Speaking to MLFootball, he explained: "My last season was tough. I was going through, I had a lot of, you know, a personal family issue.

"And it was a challenge, and it was very… it just took a lot out of me in terms of, you know, my ability to play."
