Some workers on The Comeback were left confused when Lisa Kudrow hugged Julian Murray Stern on set - unaware he was her son.

The 62-year-old actress believes the affectionate greeting may have made a few people think it was an inappropriate moment.

Lisa recalled to People: "I was kind of tired, and my brain was just a little fuzzy, and I've been looking at lines.

"I walked in, and I saw Julian sitting on the couch with some other people, like, 'Oh,' and just walked over and climbed onto the couch right next to him and cuddled in.

"And everyone just went ... And he went, 'Hi, Mom,' and everyone was looking. It was maybe inappropriate just like to climb on him. I think some people didn't know he was my son. So they were still wondering, 'What's happening right now?'"

Julian, 27, makes his HBO debut in the third and final series of The Comeback - which follows Valerie Cherish (Lisa) attempt to revive her acting career after a decades-long break.

Elsewhere, Lisa reflected on her 31-year marriage to her 67-year-old husband, advertising executive Michel Stern.

Asked what the secret is to their strong relationship, the Friends legend said it is wanting to stay together.

She added: "I think that's all there is to it. Mutual respect for the most part. But definitely wanting to stay together and then relearning mutual respect, practicing mutual respect and listening."

Lisa lived with a roommate when she was introduced to Michel - who was the roommate's beau.

Remembering the moment they first met, the Romy and Michele's High School Reunion cast member is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "I was living with [a] French girl, and he had just moved here, and they were dating when we first met.

"But I'm freakishly polite, so I saw him and went, 'Well, he's the perfect man, and it's all ruined because now they're together and I can't (make a play for him).'

"I thought that that's not nice to flirt. But the minute I saw him, I went, 'Well, that's it, there he is.'

"When he'd come to pick her up, he'd say, 'Oh, hello Lisa,' and I'd say, 'Hi,' and I'd go and leave the room, and he thought I was a freak.

"They went out for two and a half months, and six years later, I met him again at her birthday party, and we just never stopped. We're still friends."

Lisa and Michel got married during a private ceremony in Malibu, California, in May 1995 - a year after the NBC sitcom Friends premiered.

In 2014, she told Glamour: "When [Michel and I] decided to get married, we understood: We’re not promising to love each other forever, because you can’t do that, but we are promising to work on whatever problems come up.

"We’re committed to our marriage working. It turns out, after you have a history, there’s such a bond, and love takes another shape. But, oh, I don’t want to jinx it - I’m superstitious!"

In May 1998, Lisa and Michel welcomed Julian into the world.
