Patsy Kensit kept her love affair with Terence Stamp secret for 35 years because she didn't want to "hurt" anyone.

The 57-year-old actress recently revealed she had a secret fling with the Superman actor - who was 30 years her senior - in the early 1990s after they worked together on 1991 thriller Prince of Shadows in Madrid, Spain with Patsy calling Terence a "total gentleman" as well as "an amazing and generous lover".

Now Patsy has explained she didn't feel ready to talk about the brief romance until after the actor's death in 2025 at the age of 87. She told The Telegraph newspaper: "[I spoke about it] because he died last year, so I thought no one could be hurt by it.

"Although neither of us was in relationships at the time. He was wonderful. Very sexy. And a gentleman. He would write these lovely letters to my mother."

Patsy previously opened up about the relationship in a candid interview with The Sun on Sunday newspaper, saying: "We were star-crossed lovers and he was a total gentleman.

"Even though there was an age gap, we had a strong bond. He was an amazing and generous lover ... He was probably the most beautiful man I’d ever seen."

Patsy ended their relationship when she left the UK to shoot Timebomb in 1991, describing herself as "young and stupid".

The actress met her second husband - Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr - in Madrid while she was working on Prince of Shadows with Terence.

They married in 1992 and went onto have son James together, before getting divorced in 1996. The following year, she married Oasis singer Liam Gallagher but they split the following year, and in 2009 she tied the knot with DJ Jeremy Healy, with their marriage ending in 2010.

Terence - who appeared as villain General Zod in Superman and Superman II - went onto marry Elizabeth O'Rourke, with their union lasting from 2002 to 2008. He died in August 2025.

His family said at a time: "He leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, both as an actor and as a writer that will continue to touch and inspire people for years to come."
