Pink moved to New York City "because she's an amazing mom".

The Get The Party Started hitmaker - who has kids Willow, 14, and Jameson, nine, with her husband Carey Hart - has revealed the real reason behind her move from California to New York after reports suggested it was down to her guest stint fronting the Kelly Clarkson Show.

On Monday's (02.03.26) episode, she said: "We actually moved here because I am an amazing mom.

"And also so Willow could study theatre and experience more Broadway."

Pink teamed up with her daughter on the show too, as they sang Hopeless War from the Outsiders musical together.

Last week, Pink was spotted in NYC amid reports she was replacing Kelly on the NBC daytime talk show after seven seasons.

Kelly confirmed earlier this month she would be ending her run on the programme later next month.

The singer, who first rose to prominence as the inaugural winner of American Idol, has hosted the NBC series since its launch.

An insider previously told Page Six that Pink has been under consideration to succeed her.

The source said: “She’s been guest-hosting and it seems she’s doing very well, and that’s the plan.”

However, Pink - who is spending this whole week at the helm - has insisted the position is temporary.

She said in a since-deleted Instagram video: "Hi everybody. Just in a continuation of debunking all of the sources that we've got going on in the world."

The pop star made clear that her week of guest hosting was simply a favour for a friend, and that a permanent role was never on the cards.

She continued: "I'm not taking over The Kelly Clarkson Show. I'm doing a fun thing for my buddy Kelly, because it's a fun thing.

"If I wanted a talk show, I would not have to audition. I would just have one, and it would be amazing, not something I'm currently researching or looking for in my busy, busy, busy world."

Kelly previously revealed that she planned to spend more time with her kids, following the death of their father Brandon Blackstock in August, aged 48.

She said on Instagram: "This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show'. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. (sic)"
