Kevin Federline reveals Britney Spears has 'talked to' their sons after memoir allegations
Kevin Federline has claimed his and Britney Spears' sons have spoken to their mother as they try to "mend a bond".
Kevin Federline says Britney Spears has "talked to" their children after his tell-all memoir.
The 47-year-old DJ, dancer and former reality star - who has Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 18, with his ex-wife - recently made a series of allegations about the 43-year-old singer's behaviour, claiming she was "drunk as hell" around their children and once appeared at their bedroom door holding a knife.
Britney dismissed the claims made in Kevin's book You Thought You Knew as "gaslighting", while he has now said their sons are trying to "mend a bond" with their famous mother.
He told the Talk Shop Live podcast: "We haven't talked specifically, but I know that she's talked to our sons, which is good.
"I'm really hoping that through all of this — through all this turmoil — that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
"I see it, but it's gonna be a difficult road and it's gonna take time."
Kevin insisted their boys "absolutely love their mom", and he wants them to have a relationship with the Lucky hitmaker.
He added: "They absolutely love their mom, right? I mean, they always, always have, always will.
"It's instilled in them. And I've always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom, the way I have with my mom."
While Kevin acknowledged that there are some people who feel the allegations made in his memoir could have a negative impact, he insisted he's happy to be "the bad guy" if it forces change.
He explained: "I know that a lot of people think that this book hurts that situation, but we've done everything else.
"We've tried every single thing. And when you're dealing with a situation like this, if I have to be the bad guy and everybody has to hate me, well, so be it.
"I'll do that for my kids to be able to have a relationship with their mother."
Kevin previously insisted he wants "nothing but greatness" for the Toxic singer.
He told Us Weekly magazine: "All I really want is for her to be able to have a wonderful relationship with her children.
"I want her to be happy, healthy and all of the things. I want nothing but greatness for her."
