Jennifer Lawrence feels 'embarrassed' by old interviews
Jennifer Lawrence understands why people took a dislike to her earlier in her career.
Jennifer Lawrence finds her old interviews to be "so embarrassing".
The Oscar-winning actress admits that she behaved a certain way in interviews as a "defense mechanism" and Jennifer can now understand why she was "rejected" by elements of the public.
She told The New Yorker: "Well, it is, or it was, my genuine personality, but it was also a defense mechanism. And so it was a defense mechanism, to just be, like, ‘I’m not like that! I poop my pants every day!’ … I look at those interviews, and that person is annoying.
"I get why seeing that person everywhere would be annoying. Ariana Grande’s impression of me on SNL was spot-on."
Jennifer, 35, thinks she was specifically rejected by members of the public because of her "personality".
She explained: "I felt — I didn’t feel, I was, I think — rejected not for my movies, not for my politics, but for me, for my personality.”
Jennifer was mocked by Ariana during a 2016 sketch on Saturday Night Live.
The char-topping star said during an impression of the actress: "I’m just, like, a snackaholic. I mean, I love Pringles. If no one’s looking, I’ll eat, like, a whole can."
Meanwhile, Jennifer previously insisted that her appearance has changed because she's "ageing" - not because of plastic surgery.
The movie star acknowledged that her appearance has changed over recent years, but Jennifer insists she hasn't gone under the knife.
She told Interview magazine: "I started at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30 and I’m like, 'I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m ageing.' Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, 'I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller. Thank you for bringing it up.'"
What's more, Jennifer highlighted the influence of Hung Vanngo, the acclaimed make-up artist.
She explained: "I also think it’s incredible what make-up can do because I work with Hung, who overlines the lip, and I call him a plastic surgeon, because everybody in the last few months since I’ve been working with him is convinced that I had eye surgery."
