Danielle Jonas shares Lyme disease diagnosis
Danielle Jonas' hair began to fall out when she contracted Lyme disease.

Danielle Jonas has been battling Lyme disease.
The Married to Jonas star - who has daughters Alena, 11, and Valentina, eight, with husband Kevin Jonas - first noticed something was wrong when she started losing her hair, but it took some time for her to get a diagnosis.
She told Parents magazine: “They tried to tell me it was anxiety. Finally, I had a biopsy that showed I actually had Lyme disease.
"I also had eczema on my scalp, which was likely from the inflammation [caused by Lyme disease].
"The hair loss was very traumatic. I got to a point where I wanted to wear a wig.”
Instead, the 39-year-old star relied on extensions but they only further irritated her scalp and made her feel self-conscious.
She said: “I had to go out and do things with Kevin. I just wanted to feel like myself."
Danielle's symptoms are currently under control and she's thankful she's been able to be a role model for her daughters.
She said: “They saw everything I went through. So the main thing I tell them [when their eczema flares up] is ‘this is going to pass.’”
But Danielle admitted navigating skin struggles with Alena hasn't been issue because she is of an age where she wants to experiment with new products.
She said: “I had to reel Alena back in a little bit. Besides eczema, she’s always had other skin issues, so keeping things clean for her is important.
“Still, she gets mad because she wants to have fun with certain products. I just tell her, ‘Well, do you want a flare-up or do you want it to get it under control? That helps her come back down.’”
The former hairdresser admitted her tween is already stealing her clothes.
She laughed: “It's just wild. She's very into clothes and hair. We're almost the same size, so she’s always in my closet."
Danielle loves seeing the bond between her two daughters.
She said: “Alena has always tried to take care of her younger sister. She’s very loving and has a huge heart.
“Valentina wants to be more on her own. I try to teach her that she has to care about her sister, too. But they love each other a lot and remind me of how I was with my own siblings.”
